Blossoming beauty: Lorraine Kelly's 16-year-old daughter Rosie blooming beautiful as they go Christmas shopping together

By Jody Thompson

A mother's love: Lorraine Kelly was arm-in-arm with daughter Rosie as they shopped in Glasgow yesterday

She's always been the apple of her mother's eye - and now 51-year-old Lorraine Kelly's 'little girl' Rosie has ripened into a truly beautiful young woman.

With cascading, lightly curly auburn locks and model looks, 16-year-old Rosie and her mother - who seems decades younger - showed that good genes have a lot to answer for.

Rosie was born in June 1994, and has often been referred to by Lorraine over the years on her morning shows, so that viewers have felt they've known the presenter's only child.

Happy together: The sunny 16-year-old and her mother clearly enjoy spending quality time together

But now they can see that as well as obviously being a loving daughter, she is very much now her own lady.

The AM sofa queen and her daughter were arm-in-arm in Glasgow yesterday for a spot of Christmas shopping - with Lorraine wearing a suitably festive Santa Claus-red coat and knee-high suede boots.

Looking stylish in a cute red beret, quirky blue minidress, ethnic scarf, military-style boxy beige jacket, lace-up bovver boots feminised with a Chanel-style bag meanwhile, schoolgirl Rosie showed she clearly had her own boho chic look going on.

In the genes: The pair appear to share a love of fashion as well as good looks

The pair made a beeline for ultra trendy Urban Outfitters, where Rosie checked out a host of glitzy tops, obviously wanting to look her best over the party season.

The mother and daughter duo had travelled to Lorraine's native Glasgow for a day trip from the family home in Broughty Ferry near Dundee.

Lorraine usually stays in London during the week for her 8.30am ITV1 week day show, but with time off for Christmas, mother and daughter could spend quality time together - and what could be better than hitting the shops?

Lorraine is married to Rosie's father Steve Smith, a cameraman who she met while filming in Scotland for TV-AM in 1986.

They've now been married for 18 years - and must both be very proud of their little petal...
